***A big “shout out” to VVC Alum Chris Austin and UC Irvine for outlasting USC in 5-sets to reach the MPSF Final. We are hopeful Chris will become our second athlete to participate in a Men’s NCAA Final Four.  VVC alum Drew Staker accomplished that feat in his freshman year with Northridge.

Wednesday HS recap

We welcome an additional attention afforded our beloved sport.  Yesterday, there were two articles featuring boys volleyball.  The first focused on the ascension of Valley HS and their volleyball program.  Coach Matt Porter, a friend of VVC, has systematically begun reshaping his program in hopes of a deep run into the post season.  With several athletes that have begun training with VVC, we are thrilled and proud of the advancements Coach Porter and his athletes have made.

Bob Houser

Bob Houser was a member of our highly celebrated 2011 graduating class. Bob was originally highly sought by Grand Canyon University but elected to explore another option for the 2012/2013 season.  When Bob decided that option was not a good fit, VVC went back to work and reopened dialogue with Coach Price and GCU.  Bob committed to Grand Canyon University in early March 2012 and will begin his playing career in the MIVA with four years of eligibility.  He will continue his on-court relationship with Tanner Maxwell.  We are all hopeful the VVC tandem will help GCU reach an NCAA Final Four in the near future.

Congratulations Bob! Here is Bob signing his National Letter of Intent to represent Grand Canyon University…
